Mercruiser 470

Ok, so I got a free boat over the weekend. Its a 78 Baja with the Mercruiser 470. Oh its an open bow speedboat. But it has an ezloader trailer which is in really good shape, so I figure if the boat turns out to be junk, I can probably get a couple hundred out of that. So all that aside, does anyone have experience with this motor setup? I am hoping to fix the boat up enough to sell it or trade it on something a little deeper and more suited for fishing.
