The whole slot limit thing makes a tourney like this kind of strange.

It is very possible that 3 27.5 inch fish would lead to a win. Or one 41.

I caught two, maybe three keepers all of last season out of 30 or so fish. One was just shy of 28 and the other two were maybe 22. I can't see keeping a 22 inch striper.

And same thing here ... all the fish boated last year and maybe one was under the 28" , that was it.

I can tell you a 22" striper is way more tasty than a 50" striper. I never keep the larger ones unless I cannot successfully revive them.

X2 Ship.
We caught MANY fish last season and only one legal 27" fish which we kept.
Now go figure, it was the only fish gut hooked using a circle hook no less and we mixed them up with circle & J hooks..
There will be no circle hooks on my boat this year as we lost to many fish with them..

I'm not a fan of tourneys anyway..

Just an FYI the Castleton Boat Club wont be having their striper tourny this year so if thats one that you wait for you might want to jump on albanys or the alehouse tournament. I alwayse enjoyed the cbc tournament but with the regs the way they are i just want to catch a few fish and get back into the adirondacks.
