Mercruiser 3.0l grounding issue
I've been working on my 22ft sylvan offshore aluminum and its got he 3.0l mercruiser in it. 1989. I just took the cob job wiring apart and rewired the dash. Everything it working find and operating as it should but I noticed that while taking the lower drive cable off to replace i hit the brass barrell nut against the carb air intake cover and it arced. I also just noticed the ground wire from the gimbal housing to the engine is broken off and when i touch that to the motor block it arcs as well. What could be the issue here? I have all items grounded back to black back to the ground stud on the motor block and then to the negative on the battery. All items are operational and using correct voltage with no drops as i can tell. Any ideas? Thanks! - Justin
