Housatonic in Derby Connecticut Schoolies

First fishing post here. Headed out early Thursday morning with a buddy of mine. It was crowded a few guys there already and we couldn't get into the "good" position. The guy in the "good" spot was hitting them on almost every cast. Nothing big though. I had a few smalls, with a nice fat 27" mixed in. All were taken on FinS' pearl white 5" softplastics with 3/8 jig heads. Nice to feel the line stretch once again.

I fish the Housy too, closer to the mouth. I am heading out tonight for a bit, will let you know how I do.

How did you make out?

I caught a bunch of schoolies, nothing bigger than 26", but definitely good to know they are back! I was fishing with chunks of herring, heard that some of the keepers that have been caught recently had herring in their belly.

I fished the mouth this morning for an hour...caught one 24 incher,,had some meat to it also,,,,,,saw a lot of bait heading to deeper water....I CAUGHT IT ON THE FLY
