RI Report - Fresh Pond Rocks!
Came back from one of the most awesome blitzes I have ever been part of. Went to one of my fav spots in RI and saw hundreds of birds working about 3/4 mile down the beach, so I decided to take a walk. Most of them were sitting, some working, so I cast a 4" shad body.
Fish on, 25"/7#. Cool. Cast again. Fish on. This repeated from 11:30 to 2:00, all fish in the 25-30", 7-10# range. Ended up landing 78 fish, best ever from shore. Blitz died when a seal came thru, and since I needed to leave (acutally should have left at 1:30, but I was still into fish!) I did. I'm sure it started back up.
Those birds were sitting 'cuz they were full. It was amazing to watch those stripers racing across the top of the water and going 100% airborn. I even saw one striper head come up, shake, and go back down. Totally amazing. What a day.
