So how'd everybody make out?

I hope nobody sustained any severe property damage or injury.

Long Island fared better than the media predicted, but we still had some damage, with trees and mostly water and flooding. About 30% of the island lost power. I was lucky in that I didn't lose power or cable and only have branches and leaves all over the yard.

The South Shore Beaches took a pertty hard hit and most all beaches and access were closed, so I've only seen a few pics. I might try to get out to a beach tomorrow to gather washed up surf clams, but I don't think there will be any 4x4 access in the near future, at least at many of the places I fish.

So how did everybody else make out? I'm interested in hearing how the rest of the coast fared.

I'm about 8 miles from the coast and on high ground, so no flooding issues at my place, but we did sustain some tree damage and lost a fence. Power was out for about 7 hours yesterday, but we were lucky to get it back relatively soon. Lots of people here still without power due to trees down on the lines.

On Friday they were still predicting that it was going to be Cat2, borderline Cat 3, when it hit here, but by the time it got here yesterday morning it had been downgraded to a tropical storm. Glad it was not as bad as it could have been

Whoa, glad you dodged the bullet. What a difference a few extra inches of top soil makes. After seeing the pictures of the town dock underwater, I figured you were toast. Glad I was wrong.

Not having a basement was a BIG plus!!!
