New River inlet/intercoastal?
Back when I was at LeJeaune, I did a lot of fishing for Kings, Specs, pups, and flounder giggin in the intercoastal. Anyone around that area?
Looking to relive some memories.

I left Lejeune 2 years ago. I caught specks in Browns and Bear Inlets and reds in the surf. I hope to get back soon. You should check out www.ncwaterman.com. S/F.

Re: New River inlet/intercoastal?
I've been wanting to get back since I left 14 years ago!
I'm thinking of trying to get a gathering going down there for november.
Man I miss driving to Hatteras and the OBX on swoops!
The swing bridge used to slam with Specs at the turn of the high tide, down at Onlsow! That was my home actually, remember the phsyco ward , take a right after the bridge, the quonset huts on the right? That was my home for about 12 years................

Re: New River inlet/intercoastal?
Look forward to it Gunny, I can fit 3 others on the boat but it is a lot more comfortable with 3 total that way when we hook up we have someone to drive someone to gaff and someone to fight. and everyone stays out of each others way.
And no beer until the first fish is hooked up or 10am whatever comes first

Re: New River inlet/intercoastal?
Sam, I am going to not only take you up on your generous offer, but I am going to tug my hole in the water behind me and challenge a bunch of Yankee's to convoy with me. I'm thinking that a 24/7 Gathering is long over due for the pride of the South. Slow trollin kings and giggin flats at night, stickin gar with a bow, battlin with reds, and a slow roasted pig on a spit, what could be better.

Re: New River inlet/intercoastal?
Just give me the heads up so I can try to get some time off work and for the pig I know a guy who can bring the pig already cooked on the cooker. And if we can work the dates out I have a buddy who might be able to take some on his boat.
