Maps and graphs
of current water resources conditions. The U.S. Geological Survey
provides real time data temperatures, water quality, and stream
flow for every major water basin, lake and reservoir in the U.S.
This helps to identify safe and suitable conditions for your fishing
outing. Enter the state in upper right search box. In the pre defined
display menu choose water quality data. Pick a grouping, (River
basin, county, hydrological unit. ). After retreiving the fresh
water temperature data you will want to enter the degree celsius
into the c field of the following converion chart. Put the value
in the celcius field and click on the farenheit box for results.

The
station locator is
designed for the user who wishes to access all available data
for any "active" (currently transmitting) water level station.
Retrieve Meteorological Oceanographic Data, such as Barometric
pressure / Wind speed direction and gusts / Air and Water temperatures.
The locator is broken down by state. Click on the state where the station of
interest resides, then click on the station's name or dot. A screen will appear
with the station selected and associated data options. Click on the option
for the desired data. It is recommended that you check the data inventory option
first before selecting other data types to see what data may be available.
For fishing purposes the Weather / Ocean data is the most usefull. Plot for
the previous day for sustained wind and direction or for barometric changes
and trends. Click
on link to retrieve Meteorological data then look for weather ocean data.
All
U.S. Stations are included.
The
Chesapeake Observing Center has real-time data from in and
around the Bay. Buoy electronics includes weather sensors and underwater
sensors showing Station Tables, wind speed and direction, air and
water temperatures, relative humidity, and other useful fishing
information. You can also submit queries and retrieve past Bay
data to generate plots.
